Frequently asked questions

Twelve questions we are actually asked, answered with the real numbers rather than with "contact us for details". If yours is not here, the contact page is answered within one working day.

Buying

Open the ad and press "Show phone number". You need to be signed in, and signing in needs nothing but a mobile number — email is optional. The number appears on the page along with a WhatsApp link. We never print a seller's number on a public page, and we never pass your number to the seller unless you contact him first.

No. Every one of the 6 ads in Lahore and 6 across all 1 cities is public. You can search, use all sixteen filters, read the full specification and look at every photograph without an account. Registration is only needed for three things: posting an ad, placing a bid, and seeing a seller's phone number.

Not mechanically — we are not an inspection service and we will not pretend to be. What we do is read every ad before it goes public: the photographs, the year against the model, whether the price is plausible, and whether the seller has hidden a phone number in the description. Always see the car yourself and, if the money involved matters to you, pay a workshop to look at it before you buy.

The original registration file is the folder of papers the excise office issues with the car: the registration book or card, the sale deed and the transfer history. "Available" means the seller has it. "Duplicate file" means the original was lost and a copy was issued, which is legal but slower to transfer and usually worth a lac or two less. "Not available" means walk carefully. It is a compulsory field on every ad, so you know before you make the trip.

Selling

Yes, and it is free today for everybody — private sellers and dealers alike. There is no listing fee, no charge to feature an ad and no commission on a sale. That will not be true forever: once there is enough traffic to be worth paying for, there will be small charges and a small commission. When that happens it will be said plainly on this page and on the posting form before it takes effect, not introduced quietly.

Usually within one working day, and often the same morning. Every ad is read by a person before it appears — that is the whole point of the site — so it is not instant. You can watch the status on your My ads page: Pending while it waits, Live once it is up, or Not published with the reason written out.

The administrator sets the display period when he approves it: 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month. When it runs out the ad comes down automatically and you get a renewal prompt on your My ads page. A renewal goes back through approval — that stops a car that sold two months ago from quietly reappearing.

You are told which of 7 reasons it was — photos unclear or too few; price not realistic; duplicate ad; wrong category; contact details in the description; suspected fraud; other — plus a note from the administrator if he wrote one. The commonest by a distance is contact details in the description. Putting your number in the text does not get you more calls; it gets the ad rejected, because the number behind a sign-in is the only reason buyers register.

Auctions

Open a live auction, sign in, and complete CNIC verification once if you have not already. After that the bid box on the auction page is open: type an amount at or above the minimum next bid — the current bid plus the minimum increase — and confirm. Your bid appears immediately in the history under a masked name. You can raise your own bid at any time before the clock stops; you cannot lower it or take it back. A bid in the last 2 minutes moves the closing time that much further on, so the auction ends when the bidding stops rather than when the clock says.

Because a seller is being asked to hold his car off the market for up to two weeks on the strength of bids from people he has never met, and an auction full of anonymous bids is worth nothing to him. You verify once, before your first bid, and never again. Only the verification team sees it, it never appears on a public page, and it is deleted 90 days after the auction closes — see the privacy policy.

When the clock reaches zero the highest bid stands and the auction closes. We put you and the seller in contact with each other — you get his number, he gets yours — and from that point it is an ordinary private sale. See the car, check the original file against his CNIC, agree the money and complete the transfer of ownership. Winning an auction is an introduction, not a purchase.

No. Not the whole payment, not a deposit, not a booking amount and not an escrow. No money passes through this site at any point in an auction, and there is nothing to pay us for bidding or for winning. You pay the seller directly, in person, after you have seen the car. It also means we cannot get your money back for you if something goes wrong, which is exactly why the three safety rules on the how it works page are worth reading.

Still stuck?

The contact page is answered within one working day. If it is about a specific ad, quote its reference number — the four-digit figure at the top of the listing.
